Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the shredded chicken, taco seasoning, and water. Stir well and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Lay the tortillas out on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the chicken mixture onto each tortilla, then top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the tortillas are crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve with salsa, sour cream, fresh cilantro, and lime wedges on the side.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
• For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the chicken mixture
• Avoid overfilling the tacos to prevent them from breaking apart during baking
• Serve with a side of guacamole for an extra burst of flavor
Food Safety:
• Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C)
• Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours of cooking
