Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Grill or grill pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Skewers
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes if using. This marinade combines sweetness, saltiness, and a hint of acidity to perfectly flavor the chicken.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor infusion.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked skewers, leaving a small space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
  4. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is fully cooked and has a nice char. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Food Safety:
