Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts about 6 ounces each

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Meat thermometer
  • Resealable plastic bag or shallow dish
  • Whisk
  • Medium bowl

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, paprika, black pepper, and salt until well combined. This mixture will act as both a flavor enhancer and a tenderizer for your chicken.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for maximum flavor and tenderness.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F to 400°F. Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  4. Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness.
  5. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the meat moist and tender.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight.
• Avoid overcooking the chicken to prevent it from becoming dry.
• Serve with a fresh salad or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Always marinate chicken in the refrigerator to prevent bacterial growth.
• Do not reuse marinade that has come into contact with raw chicken; discard it after use.
